advice centre
family03

The Centre provides advice to clients regarding benefits - including Disability Living Allowance and Incapacity Benefit. Our trained advisors have an excellent track record of assisting people at all levels - from filling out daunting and complicated forms right through to representation at Tribunals.

In 2006 the Welfare Rights section of the People's Centre represented many clients at Tribunals, achieving a success rate of over 90%. These wins have resulted in higher-rated benefits for our clients.

Over the years our team of advisors have built up considerable expertise in industrial diseases which are widespread in North Tyneside due to the nature of local employment, past and present. Examples are Vibration White Finger, Occupational Deafness, Asbestosis and accidents at work.

The Welfare Rights section is open between 10.00am and 2.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (10.00am - 3.00pm Tuesdays and Thursdays). The only exceptions to these times are when advisors are at a Tribunal and Bank Holidays. We work on an appointment basis. If you or somebody you know would like to arrange an appointment the number to ring is (0191) 263 5029.
