adult learning

Wallsend People's Centre runs a wide range of courses, for leisure as well as career development. Our tutors are first rate and the classes are designed for the absolute novice as well as those who already have some experience and expertise. Many of our courses are provided directly by the Centre whilst others are delivered in conjunction with North Tyneside Council's Adult Learning Alliance.

The Adult Learning Alliance offers a wide range of programmes to suit the needs of individual residents, the community and voluntary sector and employers. This can be broken into four broad areas of work:

1. A wide range of part time courses delivered in the community including ICT to Skills for Life, Art and Crafts, British Sign Language, Family Learning and more.

2. Targeted programmes aimed at learners with low qualifications, or who are unemployed or have learning difficulties or disabilities.
